Sensory Hallway
This grant funds the installation of three sensory paths in highly trafficked areas of Murray Avenue School. Sensory paths feature permanently placed stickers that engage children in a series of physical activities in a school hallway with the goal of giving proprioceptive — or movement of the body — sensory input to help kids stay calm and regulate their bodies. While the paths have clear benefits for students with sensory-processing needs, all students can be positively impacted by movement breaks and sensory stimulation that help them re-focus and have a playful walk in the halls.
