HMX Safe Skating Initiative

The Hommocks Middle School Physical Education program features an ice skating unit designed to introduce all students to the fundamentals of skating—promoting physical fitness, coordination, and confidence. Safety is a top priority, and students are required to wear helmets to protect against head injuries and gloves to keep hands warm and safe during falls. This grant funds the purchase of helmets and gloves for use by students during the ice skating unit who either cannot afford their own or occasionally forget to bring them.
