From Modern Classroom to Prehistoric Cave

Cave art posters from diverse regions and headlamps create an immersive “cave experience” in 6th grade Social Studies classes. Students move through simulated cave stations, take field notes, and make inferences like archaeologists. Through inquiry, discussion, and written reflection, students strengthen critical thinking and collaborative learning skills. The program initially serves approximately 140 students and two teachers, with materials reused annually with potential expansion to more classrooms.
