Adaptive Physical Education Equipment

Adaptive physical education classes are relatively new to Chatsworth Avenue School. This grant provides equipment for students in adaptive physical education classes. An example is sensory soccer balls which are designed to not roll far, so children with physical disabilities can be more successful when working on soccer dribbling skills. Another example is basketballs made of foam, which are soft and silent, preventing children with cognitive disabilities from becoming overstimulated from the noise of multiple balls dribbling at the same time. With this modified equipment, we are supporting both students and teachers in reaching learning standards.
