About Us

Since our founding in 1996, we have awarded over 500 grants totaling more than $5 Million.  Over 90% of all funds raised go directly to grants.

 

Mission Statement 

The mission of the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation is to enhance the quality of public education in Larchmont and Mamaroneck by engaging the support and energies of educators, citizens, parents, students and alumni to raise funds for the awarding of grants for projects that will:

 

  • Strengthen and enrich the curriculum by serving as a catalyst for the development and promotion of innovative and meaningful programs.

  • Support additional training for faculty members and enhance the educational resources available to them.

  • Provide financial assistance for special school facilities and equipment.

 

It is not the Foundation’s intent to furnish regular operating funds to the Mamaroneck School District. 

 

How We Fund

Operating Funds


Each year, teachers and administrators apply for grants to fund creative, innovative programs and equipment that fall beyond the scope of the regular school budget. Supported by MSF operating funds, these grants enhance the teaching and learning experience across the district. In 2018, the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation launched a student-led grant initiative that invites students to apply for grant funding for inventive, leading-edge proposals that will complement District-sponsored programs. 



The Mamaroneck Schools Foundation Endowment


The Mamaroneck Schools Foundation Endowment provides a solid financial future for our rapidly growing non-profit organization. Contributions to the MSF endowment help ensure that we can keep promoting excellence in our public schools.



The Barbara Bennett-Rones Memorial Endowment


The Barbara Bennett-Rones Memorial Endowment to the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation was created in 2002 by her friends and family. The Endowment is intended to fund annual grants to our schools in the areas of diversity, the arts, supporting students with special needs and community service development—all areas of importance to Barbara. Each year MSF awards a grant from this fund in her memory. Please help us to continue Barbara's passion by making a donation to this endowment.



The Diane G Millstein Memorial Endowment


Created in 2011, the Diane G Millstein Endowment was established by her friends and family to remember her passions and generosity in the Mamaroneck community. Consistent with her past interests, the endowment will fund in full or partially, programs that: aid students with special needs, reading and writing assistance, literary efforts, support individual type athletics (such as fencing, wrestling, tennis, etc.) or assist girls in developing science and mathematical skills. A grant will be funded annually and recognized as a beneficiary of the Diane G Millstein Memorial Endowment. Please consider making a donation to this endowment if your interests align with the funding areas.
